A Bit about Me

• Info about me in no particular order:
• I love to read.
• I am a fierce advocate of intellectual freedom.
• I love finding things. Few things are quite as intriguing as a good Google scavenger hunt
• I have walked one marathon and two half marathons.
• I am passionately interested in being an advocate for underrepresented and marginalized groups, especially in terms of books. We Need Diverse Books
•  I love superheros! DC mostly, but others too.
• I am hyper-competitive (I only play games that I can win).
  
• I can juggle.
• In elementary school my class read Charlotte's Web. I dressed in a spider costume and wore it all day. (I can only imagine what my teacher thought when I came in to class wearing it!)
• I was a 10 year 4-H member.
• In FFA, I competed in every event possible. (remember that hyper-competitive part?)
• I was an ovo-lacto vegetarian for 10 years. I still don't eat much meat.
• I once assembled a LEGO Mars Rover. It had 858 pieces and was amazing!
  
• I can wiggle my ears without touching them.
• I can recite the 50 states in alphabetical order in under a minute.
• When I was in first grade I wrote a letter to President Reagan asking him to sponsor me in a read-a-thon. He didn't, but he sent me a lovely note.
• My birthday is always on the same day of the week as Halloween.
• I was Little Miss Tomato of 1981. I can't stand tomatoes.

• I love Grumpy Cat.
• I don't watch much TV, but when I do it is probably Arrow, Downton Abbey, or The Big Bang Theory.
• I love The Golden Girls. I want to be Dorothy when I grow up.
  
• I wish I had more time to play games. My favorites are Scrabble,Dominion, and Settlers of Catan.
• My favorite words are "pusillanimous" and "lugubrious".  
• When I was 5 I almost fell into the polar bear pit at the Indianapolis Zoo.
